- City Park Search :
It's hard to find a city park with specific amenities, such as racquetball or horseshoe pits. I built this website as a personal project to easily find these parks. So far, I only have Phoenix data, but I plan to expand to the top 20 cities in the US.
Need : The website needed to show city parks in an easily accessible manner. It also needed to have an emphasis on search engine indexing so that people could find it.
Solution : This was built around the Google Maps API to show parks where they are in proximity to the user. It includes simple controls for filtering out parks that don't include the amenities they don't need. The content was written for search engines first, and humans second, but you can't tell by looking at the content. Advertising was added to support the site costs. Full management tools are also available for ease in adding parks to the database, but is published in a way that low-grade servers could be used under load of thousands of concurrent users. - Elite Audio Solutions :
This is a website for a custom car stereo installation shop based out of Colorado Springs.
Need : This site needed to show off car audio installations first and foremost. Most advertising is word-of-mouth, and the website needed to provide a resource for showing off the work done in this shop.
Solution : This site was built for displaying galleries of images. It provides a custom CMS so that content could be updated at any time, without my help. With prospective customers in mind, the search engine strategy was important and set for optimal indexing. After only several months in operation, EliteAudioSolutions.com is already in page 1 results for many keywords. - Your Matt Blog :
This is a blog site for use by only my friends. More or less, it was a learning exercise in customizing the popular Drupal CMS platform.
Needs : This site needed to have a full content management system so I could regularly add blog entries, images and more to my friends and family.
Solution : I created this site using the Drupal platform. I spent countless hours in customizing the look and feel of the site to match my style, radically transforming the site from the original look to what I offer. I included blogs, pictures, video and even custom integrations with popular social networking sites that I also participate in. Unintentionally, I still see many unknown visitors per day via search engines. - Remarkable Selling :
This website is used to promote and sell software that allows printed mail to be sent using popular CRM software packages.
Needs : The website had already been designed and partially built. The client needed maintenance of this website and other features to be added.
Solution : I worked on an hourly basis to provide features for purchasing and downloading software via the website. I also helped to develop out an affiliate program to allow for resellers to sell the software and receive royalties on purchases. This also included back-end tools for the site administrator to view reports and handle customer support requests. - Arena Limousine :
This is a website for a small family-owned limousine service company.
Needs : This project was for search engine positioning. The client was receiving about 1 hit per month and wanted more web traffic to generate work.
Solution : The original website was built and hosted by the client. I redesigned and built the website on my own server, with a structure that would work better for search engine indexing. I set up listings in Google and Bing maps, as well as submitted to the search engines for general indexing, including site maps, and incorporating other techniques for higher rankings. After one month, the new website generated over 100 new visits, and was viewed over 400 times within map results. - Neat Freaks Cleaning :
This website is a web identity for a small home and business cleaning company.
Needs : This was needed to provide company credibility, and allow for leads to be generated via search engines.
Solution : The website was built with absolute simplicity in mind. It provides the essential information about the company, allows for good search engine indexing, and provides a form for getting the users in contact with the company. - Dust Jacket Bandsite :
This website marks a home page for a local Indie music group.
Needs : This website needed to provide announcements, tour dates, and allow the user to listen to their songs directly from the web page. The site was to be released alongside a new album and needed to carry the hand-drawn design from the album artwork.
Solution : I designed the site to look much like the album cover in style, but not using the same artwork. I built a custom music player that was prominent on the page, but blending with the same hand-drawn style. This player would continue playing while navigating through the other pages of the site.
Since the initial release, this website has not been updated very often, and is currently under redesign to allow the band to handle their own updates.
